OXIDANT | ENGINE : Submissions

Journal Submissions:
Oxidant | Engine is open for submissions year round. We encourage simultaneous submissions, but please inform us if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Please send up to five poems of any length, with a brief bio, to oxidantengine (at) gmail (dot) com. The subject line of the email should be “Journal Submission.” If that isn’t the subject line then the submission might end up lost (unintentionally of course).
We aim to respond quickly. If you haven’t heard from us within a couple of weeks it means we’re probably seriously considering your poems. Although we are a very careful group, submissions do occasionally get misplaced so if you have not heard from us after 30 days feel free to query.

If your work is accepted to Oxidant | Engine, you grant us First Serial Rights, the right to archive the work on the website, and the right to reprint part or all of the work on social media etc. Upon publication all rights revert back to you. If the poem(s) subsequently appear elsewhere in print or online, we ask to you credit Oxidant | Engine.
Oxidant | Engine will appear two times a year in the months of November and May.

BoxSet Series Submissions:
Submissions for the BoxSet Series are open from April 1st to June 1st. Submissions received outside of that time will not be read.
Please send a small collection of poems (10-15 pages) with an acknowledgments page and short bio to oxidantengine (at) gmail (dot) com. The subject line of the email should be “BoxSet Submission.”
Individual poems may have previously appeared in other journals, but the small collection as a whole must be unpublished. Poems from your collection may not have appeared in chapbook or book form prior to submission to the BoxSet Series.
We’re simply looking for 10-15 pages that offer the experience of reading a collection of someone’s work. Interpret that as works best for you!
Payment for inclusion in the BoxSet Series is three contributor copies. If it becomes a financial possibility we would love to start paying BoxSet contributors. We don’t anticipate it becoming a financial possibility.

If your work is accepted for the BoxSet Series, you grant us Reprint Rights and/or First North American Serial Rights as applicable. It is your responsibility to make sure that you have the rights to the work, so Reprint Rights can be conferred to us. Most journals receive First Serial Rights that revert to the author upon publication, so if one of the poems in your collection has been accepted elsewhere, but has not yet been published, please make sure that that publication will occur prior to the release of the BoxSet. Oxidant | Engine is not responsible for errors that occur therein. All rights revert back to the author upon publication.
